Description
Fluke 718Ex Pressure Calibrator Repair
The Fluke 718Ex is an intrinsically safe pressure calibrator — an ATEX/IECEx-rated version of the 718 with a built-in pressure/vacuum pump that generates, measures, and sources, and reads the 4–20 mA loop, for calibration in hazardous (explosive-atmosphere) areas. Its accuracy depends on the pump, the pressure sensor, the mA measurement circuit, and the seals, which is where service and calibration focus.
FlukeServiceCenter.com repairs and calibrates the Fluke 718Ex for instrument technicians in oil-and-gas, chemical, and hazardous-area plants.
Common Fluke 718Ex problems we fix
- Electrical-measurement errors — the mA/loop or pressure measurement out of spec, recalibrated against standards.
- Internal-pump wear — won’t build or hold pressure, the pump rebuilt.
- Pneumatic-seal leaks — leaks preventing stable pressure, resealed.
- Pressure-sensor drift — the pressure measurement out of spec, recalibrated.
- Display or battery faults.
Note: intrinsic-safety (Ex) certification integrity depends on factory-approved parts and procedures; tell us if you require the unit returned to its Ex rating and we’ll advise on what that involves.
FAQs
My 718Ex reads or holds pressure wrong — fixable? Yes. Sensor, pump, and seal faults are repairable, then it’s recalibrated so pressure and loop measurements are accurate, with a NIST-traceable certificate.
Is it leak-tested and verified? Yes — checked leak-free and against our pressure standards.
Every repair includes NIST-traceable calibration and a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Email us or request service.
